VTA TRANS-TASMAN CHALLENGE

Trans-Tasman rivalry will be at it's best this weekend in Victoria. Recognising the two dominant cultures in the Touch community in Victoria, the VTA has organised a `Trans-Tasman' clash this Sunday October 16th.

The challenge will be a best of three series in both Mens and Womens divisions and will be held at Elwood Park Touch fields.

The games are expected to be a showcase of some of the best talent in the game in the southern state, and the VTA is hoping a big crowd will get on down to see some terrific Touch action.

Players will be vying for not only pride and honor for their home countries, but the player's player for each team will be competing for awards named in honor of those who have had a significant impact on the Victorian Touch scene over the last two decades.

The `New Zealand' awards will be named after Sete Kita- an all too familiar face in Victorian Touch, whilst the `Australian' awards will be named after Karen Jones (Womens) and Michael Sparks and Miles Davine (Mens)...again, all members who have an impressive resume of involvement in Victorian Touch.

Another familiar face, Tony "Tash" Eltakchi will also be attending the event, and is sure to make it an occasion for all to remember.
